Genie Belozersky
Boston-born artist Genie Belozersky grew up surrounded by art, including her father’s work. Though her parents favored folk art, she found her voice through drawing and painting—especially styles that blend fantasy, folklore, and surrealism.
Her signature style emerged in college: intricate, precisely rendered compositions using pens and markers. The meditative process of layering detail allows her to explore emotion, calm the mind, and add whimsy to life’s complexities. “I enjoy the cartoonish forms and surprising juxtapositions—but I also invite viewers to bring their own interpretations,” she says.
Genie earned her B.A. from the New England School of Art and Design and has exhibited in galleries throughout the Boston area.
