My visual design for the Theater is an extension of my concept in progressive installation. In contrast to theatrical time, which may stretch over years or centuries, the visual concrete material is occurring in actual living time. My concept is to build a structure in which the material on stage transforms itself, with the actors' movements assuming a major role in generating this transformation. Consequently, the visual components have to be developed in parallel with the actors' movements and the dramatic text right from the beginning stage of the production's development. Because the visual elements are an active and integral part of what happens on stage, not just a background, they are an organic part of the production. They vary from performance to performance.
